You are a member of the commonwealth, I am aware of the Australian feeling towards the monarchy, but what of New Zealand's?
I have been living in France for 41 years 
Back in the turbulent 60's and 70's I was in the anti-monarchy camp, my mother gave me my first name after a certain princesses husband... I would say probably more royal friendly than Australia but then NZ was colonised by civilised people and not a penal colony if you get my drift...
As chance would have it royal flesh did ruffle my blond hair as a toddler, all the cute little blond three year olds were put in the front row and the queen mum had to pat them all...
