I put the battery in the highest position I could just using the top bottle mount in the lowest hole on the battery base.
The first two photos are with the battery in the base. The last photo is it out of the base showing the kind of minimum clearance required.
Given that when you slide it forward 18mm you can kind of the lift up from the back so that you just need the spare 10mm at the front I *think* you'll be fine.
£300 is a lot to rely on a random on t'internet though!
The base seems a lot sturdier than hailing bases though.

Thanks a lot.

The information on that battery and how well it might (or might not) fit is a good as it gets.

I doubt there is a way, in the current situation, of being able to go somewhere and test fit every battery that might be available.

The money on such a battery would not be lost, if it cannot fit in the frame triangle, it will need to be on a rear pannier.

go for it, I think it'll work and certainly better, well, easier, than rivnuts.

Battery arrived and it fits, with quite a bit to spare. The bracket has bottle boss fixing holes close to the bottom, so better located than some of the HL type batteries. Although I do intend to fit another two bolts via rivnuts.

To remove the battery, put your right hand in the gap between the battery bottom and seat tube and with the left twist the key, push up with right and grab the top of the battery with the left, you now have two hands on it and this reduces the risk of dropping the battery.

Whilst those with large and strong hands can just grab the middle of this type of battery and lift it clear, it must be difficult for some to remove and install them.

You would think it would be easy enough for the manufacturers to provide a hole at the pointed end to take an eye bolt or similar so that you could attach a loop of nylon cord as a handle.

Any suggestions on retrofitting handles ?
