Interesting how little you have changed the bike.

This is mine last autumn in light touring setup. It now also has a front rack, a mount for a bar bag and a few other bits and pieces.

Tyres with a reflective strip might help that rim mismatch, perhaps?

I have a removable rack that clamps on the seat post but I only put it on when I need to carry something. The saddle has been replaced with a gel saddle. Also waiting for a suspension seatpost to be delivered.

I just bought SKS mudguards and will be adding them soon but I do like the look of the bike and try not to change the aesthetics too much.

Also just bought a pair of 32c Schwalbe Marathons that I need to put on but don't fancy the job of wrestling them onto the rims.

The finished bike in better light.
I'm jealous, mine has wires all over the place... Will take a photo when I have finished the last niggly details.

When it's done :). Patience now !

But since it is planned to be a Gruber it won't look much different :p. It will have a 48-36-24 chainset, though.

I run Supremes partly because I can almost put them on with my fingers :D.
Depending on the Marathons you refer to, this (or a crowbar) may be useful! The cable tie tip to hold on the bit that wants to come off again is very good.

Being a bit less flippant, the space between the wheel and the seatpost is *tight* for a full mudguard.

I run larger tyres than you plan - 37mm Marathon Supremes, and my LBS managed to finesse an SKS Chromoplastic rear mudguard on. For winter riding though it became badly clogged (just too little clearance) and needed hosing out each ride. Your 32mm tyres may be OK.

So I took it off as shown in the pic and replaced it with a beaver tail mudguard, and then installed a Crud type mudguard on back of the seatpost (cut it to fit with snips or scissors), which protects the back of my legs very well.

They do on dead easy. You don't even need levers. We used 1 1/4 on the front and 1 1/2 on the back.
