Hi there,
Took delivery of a RIESE MULLER SUPERCHARGER 2020 CURRY COLOUR and so far the bikes been excellent.
My only concern is the poor paintwork that covers the bike,
Powder coated Curry colour has started to chip.
I only use the bike on road and a few stone chips have appeared that are right through to the metal.
The paint has lifted off like a piece of jigsaw puzzle and certainly not befitting a bike of this cost.
The chips are nearly identical in their looks and I feel if I chipped it again it would come off in the same way, if that makes sense.
I had a powder coated Surly Troll that you could take a hammer to and wouldn't even mark.
I have contacted Riese Muller and my dealer.
Has any one got any concerns with theirs.
To me the powder coat is not robust and would have been better with a traditional pain job and lacquer

Somebody reported similar problems on here a few weeks ago, mind you they had cycled across Europe on it.

Try doing a search on here

Hi tressell69,
I remember some posters on this forum had similar issues https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/super-charger-gx-pannier-rack-paint-problem.31234/#post-237913

There are a couple of marks on the carrier of my Charger, but I do manhandle it through a doorway for storage so will have scraped it.

I can't be bothered to get into a discussion about the level of scraping and how much it should reasonably withstand.

The rest of the frame is still pretty much unmarked.

My guess is the carrier is mild steel, so maybe the paint doesn't stick as well as it does to the ally frame.

Riese and Muller bikes are nicely made and are certainly robust.

But as I've remarked in the past, they are not so superior to other bikes, sharing many of the same components.

What Riese and Muller do offer is specs that others do not.

In my case that was a twin battery and a Rohloff hub.

The bike was not that expensive by the time I'd screwed a decent discount out of the dealer, bearing in mind the extra battery and Rohloff hub would cost best part of £2K to buy separately.

Hi welcome
I would not be happy especially if it's only had road use
