March 16, 201610 yr I need to get some opinions on this. I have great Kudos Sonta that I am considering passing on to the wife as the bug has bitten!! I am hankering for a crank drive with the Nuvinci system and I noticed on eBay a KTM with the Nuvinci system so I thought I would ask a couple of question, easy ? No after 3 calls to the shop with no reply I left a message , that was a week ago. No reply! I saw another listing on eBay from the same dealer (Electric transport Shop) so I thought I would message them via eBay, yes you guessed it, 3 days later and no reply. How can any retailer survive in today's market with this customer service? They must be so busy that customers are just a pain.
March 16, 201610 yr Mmmmmmm, whatever the reasoning behind the lack of replies to your questions, It doesn't bode well for their after-sales service. When you called, was there an answer machine, or did it just ring out? It looks like they may have changed the name to Electric Bike Sales, and have 5 stores in the UK. Can anyone confirm this? March 16, 201610 yr Author There was an answer machine after some time, I left a message on the third attempt. Don't think they will get my custom.
March 16, 201610 yr There was an answer machine after some time, I left a message on the third attempt. Don't think they will get my custom. After 4 attempts in total to get their attention, I would agree with you and Nealh... avoid avoid avoid I've dealt with online retailers, where they've had to endure my countless questions before a purchase. Most reply in a quick and professional manner. A lot are very busy companies, but they're the ones that get my custom.

According to the add banner to the right of this post they are still called The Electric Transport Shop. I was calling about 2 different bikes @ 2 different stores so they must have a sales policy that says ignore customers . Edited March 17, 201610 yr by Paul J
March 17, 201610 yr Hi Paul, I want your business, does the KTM have to be a Nuvinci system? I have a number of Bosch KTM's that might suit? Please call me on 07841 412199 if interested. Regards Tom
March 17, 201610 yr I should point our we stopped supplying their stores over 6 months ago. Its also worth looking at the Shimano Steps equipped range from KTM. The Shimano drive can be upgraded with a simple software update to give the same function as the Nuvinchi hub (ie automatic gearing once the rider as selected a cadence). Its not quite as good, as its not got the infinite gear ratios, but the STEPS equipped bikes start from £1599 and many UK KTM dealers have them in stock. I'm sorry you haven't had a reply to your voice message(s). Please can you let me know which stores you called so that I can check what has happened? I've just gone through our ebay messages and can see none unanswered - please tell me what date you sent it so I can make sure it's there. Our stores can be busy but it is very important they respond to all voicemails and preferably answer the phones even if just to take details and make a call back when the store is less busy. We have one of the KTM Nuvinci Harmony bikes left. The gents in a 56cm frame. Please let me know if I can help further.
March 17, 201610 yr I should point our we stopped supplying their stores over 6 months ago.... read what you like into that Hi Col, I think you're statement here is ambiguous and potentially misleading. I doubt you meant to be potentially misleading but I think you should substantiate your point if you are going to write such unrelated statements in the public domain.

The eBay question has been answered today. It seems that my questions have been answered, I will forget the Nuvinci after the opinions of this forum. You are right, a call back would have saved all of this. Thanks again Paul
March 17, 201610 yr Exactly my feelings about the NuVinci too, also shared by Velovision and A to B magazine. And you aren't the only one to use the expression "cycling through treacle" when describing it in use. . I tried one a few years back. I was prepared to love it, but I also hated it.
March 17, 201610 yr Rare to find broad agreement on a forum, but I found the same as everyone else with the NuVinci, it's draggy, making for a 'permanent headwind' experience. Quite an achievement for an ebike, in a perverse sort of way.
