Hi Guys

Sorry if this has been raised before (I can't find the answer if it has), but the rear bearings on my Big Bear are making an increasingly unpleasant noise and I would like to replace them. From memory they are a sort of sealed bearing and come complete with the axle?
The ever helpful Hatti at Woosh has been trying to source them for me but has so far not been able to.
When I replaced the freewheel some time ago I thought about replacing the bearings too but decided they were OK - I did take them out and had a look at them however and couldn't find an exact replacement online.
So far the only option appears to be a new wheel but it seems such a waste to chuck the whole wheel and hub away just because the bearings are shot.

Any advice would be most welcome,

Cheers

they have cup and cone bearings, you only need to open it, take the balls out, wash them and re-install. When you open the hub, check the cups - if they are corroded, you may have to replace the whole hub. Then it may be cheaper to replace the whole wheel because of labour cost to relace the wheel.

If you want just new balls, they are standard 1/4" balls.
