Replacement battery needed

Many years ago my husband bought me a Free Go folding bike ( I am guessing 5/6 yrs). I used it once (literally) and put it away in garage never to be seen again until recently when we moved to Spain. Yesterday my friend who also has an electric bike invited me on a local bike ride. I tried to charge it to no avail, I’ve had it checked by a local bike store who inform me it of the 36 volts there are only 12 volts. He could adapt me a new battery but it would cost 300-600 €.

Given that I will probably not get much use (given my previously shameful history) I am loathed to spend much on it, but as it’s a brand new bike I would like to get it running, if only for my grandchildren to use.

Having looked on the internet, I believe my battery is now discontinued, could you advise me where I might get a reconditioned or cheaper replacement battery.

Your battery is also known as a Silverfish and plenty on ebay, for your usage and your history and as you say you will likely not use it that much a cheaper solution won't be such a waste of money and makes more sense.

Or look on Espanol ebay for 36V one, the capacity/ah/wh is irrelevant. The greater the capacity the greater the run time.

Hi nealh reason I sent to official was the small print about an adaptor being required for older models

Ebay is more of a gamble than a official dealer ?

The ebay ones all come with a fitting kit and a charger so if the battery doesn't quite marry up with the existing docking plate then any competent person should be able to make the switch if need be. Obviously checking polarity is a must no matter where the battery is sourced.
