Wai Won really does get about John, I doubt there's many areas he hasn't visited now! Do you know if his son Ken is still in the company, I haven't seen or heard of him since he was the technical manager long ago.
Hi Tony,

After some time working elsewhere, Ken has recently returned to work with eZee as marketing manager.

He is also well travelled and a very bright young man, a chip off the old block.

We all went out together for a Brazillian:eek: (restaurant) when I was in Shanghai last year.

Justin Lemire-Elmore of Grin Cyclery/e-bikes.ca was also staying with eZee, another very bright you man, we had a very competive game of table tennis and despite not having played for 30 years, I beat him:D

Thanks John, I thought I'd heard Ken worked elsewhere for a while, but it's good to hear that he's back with the company now. I was impressed with him when we met and eZee will be in safe hands if ever Wai Won calls it a day, though I can't imagine him doing that for a long while.

Anyone can beat me at table tennis, they'd only need one arm and one leg!

In my experience reliable and courier are two words you can rarely use in the same sentance. At one time or another pretty much all the main ones have messed me about (TNT,UPS,DPD,CityLink etc etc etc).

After FIVE failed collections by "name" couriers, I eventually found a man with a van down the road who picked it up for me no problem whatsoever, the chain couriers are a joke, the drivers do not even have mobile phones so communicating with either the recipient or the sender is next to impossible

hi, i recently had a bike sent to amsterdam by this courier......
Transglobal Express - Cheap Parcel Delivery with UPS, TNT & DHL International Courier & Worldwide Parcel Delivery Service | International Couriers

great service collected monday arrived weds midday......
they subcontract and it was ups who collected the bike....their price was much lower than ups quoted !!!!!

have regularly used parcelforce who i have always found to be ok (they would not do this job for a reasonable price......). have found that good packing results in no damage to either bikes or delicate musical instruments, so its worth taking time and wrapping well. if the item will rattle about in the box then it will probably get damaged.
regards

The courier industry in the UK is extremely competitive, and many are falling over themselves to get business. The result is that apparently some drivers are paid an absolute pittance - a tiny fraction of the courier fee. I have heard of £1 per collection whilst we are paying £15 plus VAT to send the item out . You cannot blame them therefore for not wanting to use their own mobiles. They are usually using their own van as well, so are also reluctant to pick up an item when it is miles off their route. We had an incident a few months back when a customer wanted to return a bike for repair. We arranged collection on our account because that is always easier, but because they lived on a farm out in the middle of nowhere, it took nearly a week before it finally happened. We now warn customers in this situation or offer to upgrade them to collection with Interlink (much more reliable) for £15 and most are happy to pay this.
I know you are sorted now, but try Interlink in future. They are a bit more than some but I have always found their service excellent.
