Red LED on speed sensor?

The red led on the speed sensor doesn't come on when I turn the display on, it only comes on when you pedal and then it stays on, it is displaying my speed correctly without any glitching etc.

Is it supposed to come on as soon as you turn the bike on?

BBS02B Bafang motor.

I have a BBS01 crank motor with a flashing speed sensor on the back wheel.

The LED only lights when the magnet on the spoke passes the sensor and then it goes off until the next revolution when it flashes again. That is the expected behaviour I think.

Well mine is off until the magnet passes once, then its constantly lit until the motor is powered off. It all works fine though.

Yeah I don't intend on doing anything to it, I just thought the light came on with the bike, but I must be mistaken.

It could be a different firmware than mine. I don't know, but my red led speed sensor on the bafang bbs01 just flashes when the magnet passes it. I can't speak about others more recent versions.
