Recommend me an iPhone holder for middle of handlebars

Now that my partner & I are venturing out for longer rides I would find it very useful to use the maps & satnav on my iPhone while riding. I've been looking at various mounts & they all seem to fit on one side or the other of the handlebars. Are there any that mount in the centre? It seems obvious to me that would be the best place to mount the phone but perhaps there is something I am missing?

I got a cheap one from Wilco - the mount moves around so would fit anywhere - incluidng the middle

Not specific to an iphone - would fit anything
Personally I only use it with an old phone - just in case - but works fine!

Thanks for the link but that appears to require you to have the phone permanently in a case that then clips onto the bike. I already have phone in a silicone protective case & was looking for something like the Brodit dashboard mount that I have in the car that securely holds the phone. On reflection I guess the mount on the bike needs to hold the phone much more firmly than a dashboard car mount. I have spare iPhone that I can use just on the bike with one of theses mounts. I'm going to order one & will report back.

Just to confirm that I purchased the Quad Lock & case along with a waterproof "poncho" that slides over the case. It's beautifully made & works perfectly albeit at a price. The phone is held rigidly & the screen is easy to see while riding.

I have so far used the Bikemap app & Google Maps. Both seem a very big drain on the battery as it was almost exhausted after a couple of hours. It looks like I will need to somehow secure a battery pack to the bike if I go on longer rides. Of course ideally I would be running a charger cable off the enormous battery sat on the rear paneer mount. Has anyone experience of tapping off a 5V USB socket on their bike?

Have a look at the free Endomondo app. You can either create a route or give it a start point and required distance and it will create a route for you. Either option downloadable to your phone. With Google maps you can also save a route offline to your phone. You don't get live traffic updates just directions but you use no data this way and battery life is extended as you do not need Location or GPS turn on.

I too have a Quad Lock on its way, but is the ‘Universal’ version that comes with a piece you can stick to an existing case. I have a spare transparent case that came with my phone so intend using that.

I am hopeful the lock will fit to the top of the handlebar stem putting it below the display unit that came with the bike. I’ll post pictures when fitted.

As promised, here are the pics of the universal QuadLock mounted on the handlebar of my Cube ebike. I had hoped to use it on the handlebar stem, but quickly realised that mounting the phone would not be possible due to the bike Intuvia display.

Having the phone alongside the display still works well and allows the phone to be twist mounted and removed with the display still in place.

Very happy with the QuadLock which holds my phone (Huawei P20 pro) securely and makes using an app like Bikemap a breeze for navigation and tracking.
