Rear rack bag

I bought a rear pannier from eBay, a cheap and cheerful Chinese one which didn’t stand the test of time, 3months months to be exact.
the bag has split around the zips.
My quest is to find a good quality rear bag and where better to ask is here.

My Ortieb Classics, after more than three years, still look nearly as good as new.

I've got Axiom roll top panniers, around five years of carrying shopping, batteries tools etc. still working well.
Guess you get what you pay for.

Evan's own RWE expandable top rack bag is robust if you only want that type, with drop down side panniers for carrying light trekking gear. My one is 4 or 5 years old and giving good service, in the top carries extra battery capacity and the sides all my other kit. Spare drink bottle, tools, tubes, food, camera etc, etc.

For actual shopping and bulk carrying I use quick release panniers bought from Planetx for about £25 a pair a few years ago and ideal for my use. Cheap cheerful brand but extremely excellent value, for my general twice weekly nip to the shops I can't fault them. Depending on use you don't have to pay out for really expensive ones to get good quality, it is where you buy them from that can count.

I purchased my ROSWHEEL 3 in 1 Pannier in 2017 & its still doing its job.
The top bag detaches & holds the battery whilst I shop. I can fit a small shopping trolley load into the 3 panniers.

very good bags by the look of it but out of my price range I feel.

I have the exact one in the link although they do come in different sizes. This one gives 2 decent sized panniers when needed that can each carry a fair amount. I have toured with it with enough stuff for a week.

What mostly annoys me about pannier bags that have any decent capacity is that the ones I have used (admittedly at the economy end) usually do not have a proper carrying strap or ideally convert to a ruck sack. eg It's very awkward trying to carry a tri-compartment hangover type when detached. I know brands like Ortieb are well rated but God, they are pricey.

Buy cheap buy twice - had my Carradice Super C rear panniers for years. No idea how they stay in business as it's going to be many more years before I ever need any more.

Actually recommendations like that is undoubtedly how they stay in business.
