Please do. I'm still quite angry about the two "specialist" shops I took my bike to who didn't know this could be an issue. One wanted me to spend £300 in parts and the other tried to say I had a bad connector which they actually damages! Very best of luck.
Thanks I think I have found it. Cleaned it a bit, but no change. The battery has voltage but no sign of life. A laptop and ebike battery repair shop told me the battery was fine, an ebike repair shop told me a new battery is needed, ~£540.
The display was still alive until the battery repair shop returned the battery. Will try the tranzx software.

This is the issue with so called ' specialist ' shops , there are non.
I disagree. You may recall we had a muppet - sorry - a member here who insisted he could find no TranzX-able bike shops within reasonable travel distance of his home to service a TranzX bike for "his friend". Out of curiosity I spent maybe an hour calling a few, and of those who were prepared to talk about servicing a bike they hadn't sold, one was exceptional... he knew the members friends bike model and the TranzX system inside out. He too said "They buy their bikes from discount stores, then bring their problems to me... so no, I'm NOT interested in helping you".

He then spent half an hour explaining everything about this members particular bike... and that - even though the TranzX Diagnostics software tests FIRST for cadence sensor problems, that test is unreliable, and you should always CLEAN and probably REPLACE that sensor before doing anything else. That's where I got that tip from and suggested it to @ReltonP ... which it seems has cured his core problem. That dealer was actually in the SAME TOWN as that member who asserted there were no TranzX dealers anywhere within 50 miles. But that member decided he knew best, proceeded to destroy the friends bike by taking the motor apart, and then giving the then totally busted bike back to his "friend".

Yes, knowledgeable dealers do exist, but they need to be curious and interested - even passionate - and you need to seek them out... not the dealers who simply carry a "we service that brand" logo on their door, just plug the bike in and regurgitate "Computer says no".

That's really messy. It needs a really good clean. Did you use some electrical contact spray? When I first read that this was a problem, I cleaned it by hand. That didn't do anything. The contact spray worked. I don't know why. It seems that the Tranzx system won't start to boot until it detects a circuit there. The battery may be the problem. I have two. One works perfectly and the other doesn't. The one that doesn't work shows as fully charged and has the correct voltage across the contacts.

Sorry, just to add. Mine was WAY cleaner than that when it didn't work. I had two Stow e Ways and the cleaning worked with both of them, but when I'd finished, they looked close to new.
