I have tested monty E45 Intelligent Power, It's a pedelec, without throttle, it's about 29 kg but has enought power for me.
From Monty I like very much monty ef-38, Its a folding bike only weighs 17 kg, 36 Volt & 10 Amp, you can see
a review in extraenergy 2008 test Test 2008-Spezial - Products: Pedelecs&E-Bikes, Vehicle Tests, BatteryTest, Manufacturers, Company Reports, Archive - ExtraEnergy.org, unfortunatelly it lacks of gears and costs 1100€.
You can find monty products in "tiendas el corte ingles"
regards
29 kg is a lot of weight nowadays for an e-bike. It could be powered enough for you, being young and fit, but for me... Well, anyway, I´ll have a chance to try the Monty in the next few days. I´ll let you know my impressions of how it performs where it really matters for me-where I live.

I'm agree with you, it's very heavy, you'll get into trouble when you get out of battery or when you have to handle it(keep in your house, in the lift ...)
I've tried giant twist 1.1 with lithium, it's around 30 kg, but it liked me more than monty, better quality and power.
Now I'm waiting for the new giant models, the cheaper is twist express r2, Bicis Giant / Giant Bicycles - Twist Express R2 W (2009), (1200 €), you can find it in all sizes, I need the large one (21''), but I don't know how much it weighs. If you are interested, your local dealer in Ferrol is:
Ciclos Roca
Carretera de Castilla, 283 - 289
15404 El Ferrol
Teléfono: 981313674 | Fax: 981313674

Flecc thinks that now sanyo motor is freewheel so less rolling resistance when no assisted.

The Giant Express model is definitely freewheeled now, but I can't say for certain on the £1500 Freedom model, though I think that is also, dropping the regeneration feature which never worked anyway.

Thanks pal. I´m in contact with Ciclos Roca. It´ll be for him that I´m gonna test the Monty. I´m working on a deal with him and the Spanish rep of Kalkhoff. In a few months I´ll try for one of those.

Almost I'm absolutely sure about the idea of buying my first pedelec, a Giant twist sport R2. I've chosen this because I can buy the bike in a local shop, there's a size for me (56 cm = 21''), affordable price 1200€,
It hasn't a suspension fork but I needn't, I expect its weight around 25 kg (55 libs) or less, also I expect a quick bike on flat or medium hills for commute 25 miles round trip and recharge the battery once a day.
I don't like why in the spanish site of giant only there're woman frames, my local dealer is asking for a male frame.
Another chance is buying "giant twist freedom cs lite" 1500€, suspension fork and nexus 8G, but express'll be lighter.
Kalkhoffs in Spain are expensive, around 2000€, I'm not going to wait for 2009 models.
I''ll make a review if I buy one of them.
regards
