Wrong again. On Radio 4 a short while ago they had a leading expert on the relevant subjects to clarify this very matter.

He agreed with the health minister's advice, saying that as far as possible people should maintain the safety precautions.

Note those words, "as far as possible".

That is what members are doing, but you choose to attack them and contradict the medical advice because it's impossible to do that to perfection.

Problem is with the measures the general principle is there is still a vagueness in interpreting them leading to heated discussion - heck even after thousands of years Old / New Testement , Protestant / Catholic way of conducting / interpretation has led to splintering ;-).

National Trust did announce just before the weekend that National Parks would be open for free, so combined with good weather and folk en masse make a sunny spring break for it with no prospect of let up in the foresable future.

I expect in a weeks time we could and esp London and cities get hit with a ramped up hard implementation of lockdown like Spain and France just ahead of us on he upward curve.

French people ignored officials' warnings to isolate themselves because of the coronavirus. Now they need a form to leave the house.

People in France must have a document justifying why they're outside, even just for a walk or to go to a shop, after they refused to stay indoors.

Yes it was a big deal but H1N1 killed only 0.01–0.03% of those infected and still racked up a large death toll - The corona virus is much more infectious & fatal killing 1-10% of those infected and putting many more in hospital in needing intensive care at a rate beyond their capacity. Look at what's happening in Italian & Spanish hospitals presently and work it out for yourself that what it going on.

the key difference is 33% of older people (60+ years old) are immune to H1N1.
In addition, some antivirals did work: oseltamivir for example, which is now trialled against CORVID19.
Corvid19 is lethal to about 1% of those confirmed cases, mostly against old people, leaving the other 99%, mostly young and active, to spread it further.

the numbers do not add up when compared to how many ppl die in the uk anyway.

14000 ppl die every day in the uk anyway cv is not even at 0.01% yet so what you saying is in 3 weeks 60k will die every day pmsl.

no one has died from cv on its own and no one will and thats a fact all this is being done for is so governments can bring in there emergency powers and when that happens they will be able to throw you in a loony bin.

i doubt cv will kill more than swine flue and will cost billions if not trillions so bang goes paying the debt off ever.

we still may shutdown to protect the NHS.
However, corona virus seems to behave like other viruses, it's seasonal.
If the NHS can manage through April then we won't have to lockdown, May will be easier, June, July will be even easier, then it will get worse when summer is gone.
Italy seems to peak at 7,000 new cases / 700 fatalities a day.
The wave this winter will be about 4 times higher than this one and we may even have a second year of CORVID19 to worry about.
So, 1% of 80% UK population: 500,000 over 2 years: 700 fatalities a day.
That's what Italy is going through.
