I've just had my first 2 punctures on the wisper too, fixed the tube yesterday, went out today and got another puncture. It was in the same position as the other one, just a bit further along the rim.

I've checked the tyre and found nothing, also the punctures appeared just before there is a massive bulge in the inner tube which lasts for about 12 inches along its length.

Also on both occasions I found the tyre was flat after i had gotten off the bike and left it for about 1/2 hr, before that I had no sensation of a puncture.

What could it be?

Bulges like that seem quite normal, all my inner tubes are quite irregular. Delayed flats seem to be due to the inner tube working it's way around something, either into a spoke hole or out between the tyre and rim. It takes a while for the air to work it's way out of a tight gap and that's why you get the delay. Several of my inside flats were like that, OK when I went into work but flat by lunchtime.

I had the same problem from a Kenda after a week, the sidewall had seperated from the bead. A boot worked as a temporary fix but the tyre was knackered.
This was a blowout and very different to the internal punctures, poor rim tape seems to be a fairly well documented cause of punctures. The difference is apparent though as the holes appear in different places.
Hi Mussels

I just took off the tyre to replace my tube and rim tape and have good look for any sharp objects in the tyre. Found none, but I too found that the side wall of my tyre had split just at the level of the rim (making it not immediately obvious to see without removing the tyre and looking carefully). I checked to see if it might have been caused by rubbing of the brake block on the tyre - but no - it was a straightforward failure in the tyre wall! Now fitted a set of Specialized Nimbus tyres (1.50 section, 80psi), plus some substantial Halo rim tapesand new tubes (presta valves, which I hate, but couldn't get any long stem Schraeder's locally). Hopefull all will now be well......
Incidentally I've never had a tyre fail like that berfore. From what you say it appears to be more common (especially on the Kenda's) than I had realised.
