Got my first puncture today. Flat rear tyre this morning so added more air and rode to work.
Flat again when heading home.

Just bought a £3.50 tyre repair kit from my local B&M and now will repair.
Found hole in the side of tube of all places?
No sign of damage to tyre.

Now there are slime inner tubes.

What's recommended?

I'm thinking slime tubes off eBay.

im tubeless and not 1 flat in 10 years tho i do use thick down hill tyres and top up 50mm every 3 months via the valve hole

None of them. All they do is make it harder to fix a puncture.

If you got a hole in the side of the tube and there's nothing in the tyre, you must have had a bit of grit in there or there's a sharp bit on your rim, or you damaged it when putting the tyre on. Whatever it was, you were unlucky or uncareful, and it probably won't happen again.

Also, I have had random holes appear in really cheap tubes that I got off Ebay, so buy a branded one if it happens again.

Slime... pfff... even name is disguising... why would somebody put goo inside tyre?

I am very old fashioned. Patch up puncture if I have to and replace inner tube if I have time.

I found a thorn when I was putting inner tube back. All done


Ok. Patch it's is. Maybe I'll order some spare tubes then just incase I can't patch.

After 600 miles I need new rim brake pads I see. They didn't last long!

I had schwalbe tube on rear, but I do remember a bramble branch getting me a couple of days ago by road side. Didn't see it at 7am. Caught my peddle. Been a bit of hedge cutting going on around here

For patches I cut my up own out of the Weldtite 6" x 4" repair patch.

The B&M kit was ok. I was about 14 last time I repaired a puncture. That's 40 years ago. Good grief. Where has the time gone

Marathon Plus tyre should stop you from getting punctures.
