The first and most important thing I want to say is "Sorry".

I carnt think of what possessed me to be so rude an thoughtless to you Flecc (and any other forum memebers).

I must say that I find the forum can get my very irratating at times, with the constant speculation and rumours each day, and each hour.

On top of this the waiting and delays for the bike.

My behaviour was totally unacceptable and uncalled for, and completely unforgivable.

Im sorry if I offended Flecc in any way and I know with how he has helped me in the last month, that I bite the hand that fed me.

I'm laying off the forum for the next few weeks and I will only use the forum for advise if I run into problems with my Pro-Connect.

I will attempt to post a review of the Pro-Connect a few weeks after I have ridden it to help others.

Best Wishes too all and Happy Easter.
Bob

Thanks Bob, but no apology needed, I was unhappy that you'd left us at that point and delighted that you've re-entered. There are many reasons why such upsets can happen and I don't hold grudges. Please post as much as you wish as far as I'm concerned, you will always be welcome. :)

Enjoy your Easter, at least you're not missing anything without the bike, given the current weather. :(

Don't worry Bob, we who are waiting are allowed to get ratty. At least the forum allows us to share our frustration. I'm going abroad to sit out the wait before I snap- so some will maybe get their bikes before me.

It's so easy to 'say' things by e-mail which one would never, ever say in real life. Type what you want...then hit the 'send' button. I think everyone does it and it's one of the downsides of cyber-world. Hey, it could be worse.... I remember a psychology experiment where people knowingly 'electrocuted' other people who were remote from them and whom they could not see (they didn't really electrocute them but really did think they were doing so). What made it so easy was the remoteness from reality. Same goes for e-mails and forums etc, I reckon. But... in the end.... Burncycle's humanity came to the fore!! I'm as guilty as anyone and now make a huge effort to type only what I'd say face to face. Difficult though.

Also, the frustration of waiting makes things a lot worse. As I said ages ago, I'm no good at waiting about and jumped that particular ship. I'd probably be MUCH worse than Burncycle if I were still waiting.

It's been the very devil for you all. I've felt almost guilty at having got my Agattu so quickly and easily! And realise now, as I didn't at first, just how lucky I am that it has suited me so well and at how narrowly I escaped the EZEE contretemps. But, once you all have your bikes, you too will be so glad that Derby Cycles did not panic and hurry things along with the risk of standards falling. These bikes really are something else in terms of design and construction. Think of it as a great treat on the way! Christmas always does come in the end!!! :) :) :)

Too many jobs, not enough time.

Get the feeling the next 3 days will be busy and take my mind off the wait.

I am sure Jimmy would not be getting so angry in a real shop or store about a product not being in stock that he was never going to purchase in the first place
Actually, you know I would get that angry because we had a conversation on the telephone about your repeated failure to deliver the bike when promised. If I was never going to purchase, why did I order and paid you a £240 deposit? Just to listen to 50Cycles fob me off with excuses for weeks on end and then get the deposit back after an infuriating conversation with you? Yes, in a real shop I would say exactly what I've posted so far if I'd heard face to face some of the evasive nonsense you told me. I told you something similar on the phone.

What you have done here, Scott, is to try to manipulate a genuine post to someone else, to your own advantage, by posting a provocative statement about the seriousness of my intention to buy. Just to remind you... I cancelled the order because of how you dealt with me. If I were you, I'd devote my energies to learning how to talk to customers properly, fulfil orders and try to avoid more people cancelling, not make some sort of point out of a genuine post to someone else. Your recent posting illustrates precisely why I wouldn;t ever deal with you. And yes, I would tell you that to your face.

Hi Jimmy

Like i say no hard feelings, you were not exactly that accommodating during our Telephone conversation that morning, just because you was the customer it does not give you the right to abuse myself and our staff.

I apologise if you feel offended, but I do remember yourself being quite unreasonable and offering you a compromise and a proper explanation of the delay. We decided it was best you have a refund which was done immediately and I even called you back to let you know it was now credited as i am sure you can well remember. We ended the transaction in a cival way amicably. You then proceeded to get the bike you actually wanted, everybody is happy.

A very big sorry if you feel I was not 100% polite. I pride myself on the quality of relationship between 50cycles and our customers and even though you are not a customer I am sure you could be one day. Which I now recall saying to you at the end of the first call 'maybe better luck when we have them in stock' were my actual words.

Best regards

Scott
Hi Scott. Yes, you refunded my deposit promptly and did indeed phone to let me know you had done it. I posted on this forum (in another thread) to confirm that you had done this. I was not abusive, Scott. Abuse does not solve anything and I do not behave in that way. As you may recall, the point at which I had had enough was when you kept repeating "according to our system, you have only phoned once about the bike", when I'd phoned at least 4 times, spoken to a girl and an Australian (your mechanic, it transpires) and asked them to pass messages to you and e-mailed you without a response. Your insistence that I'd only phoned once before, despite my saying that I'd phoned several times and that your "system" regarding calls obviously didn't work, was the final straw for me. You were not able at the time to offer any explanation of the delay other than that there was a delay and "we in the UK are lucky that Kalkhoff will be supplying us". That, along with the unspecified delivery date at some point in the future made me cancel an order which I'd made 6 weeks earlier. So, as you know, I did seriously intend to purchase the bike.

The whole thing is regrettable, Scott. I do understand how awkward it must be for you regarding these orders and I can understand why people are becoming more and more impatient about them. I think the mistake here was to take forward orders on a product not yet made, with the suggestion that they would be delivered "soon" (in my case, the end of January). That's the cause of the problem.

In any event, I won't post on this again and have only done so this time in response to your suggestion that I did not seriously intend to purchase from you.

I agree Bob. I had hoped that this thread would vanish quickly after those initial responses since it's continued title presence must be embarrassing for you.

I hope everyone will leave it now, if only for your sake. Thanks all.
