I've recently bought a pro rider electric mountain bike and i must say it goes great! I was unsure about them at first as i saw that the prices were extremely low but i took the risk and im glad i did. The battery is easy to take out and put in and it doesnt take too long to charge either. I was very impressed with their customer service too. It's a brilliant bike and i would definitely reccomend them to anyone else looking for an e-bike. 10 out of 10 from me :D

These have been around for many years under various names, originally with an SLA battery, for which there is still space. The SLA versions were until very recently at £300 each and one member was selling two second hand ones in perfect working order for as low as £100 each at one point.

Well my Batribike Quartz with a 200W , 24V Motor and 8Ah Battery would do 33 miles on Medium Assist when new . I think the Pro Rider Voyager would certainly better this , judging by the spec .

35 miles would be an average range with average pedalling and average terrain, but the advert says "48km on battery/power alone", which is not possible. I would say about 12 miles max except that it wouldn't make it up the first will on motor power alone.

This is exactly the sort of advert I've come across time and time again in the past week. This one's slightly worse as it makes it clear the bike is not only illegal but doesn't even have the veneer of compliance with EN15194 (the ad makes it clear it has a throttle):

"Triple Mode Electric Bike:

Throttle Power – No pedalling required
Power Assist (PAS) – Adds power to your pedalling
Pedal Power Only - Just like a normal bike"

This is no worse than many other illegal ebikes being advertised and sold, so shouldn't be singled out for that alone, though.

Like others, I suspect this thread is just spam, but also spam that is clearly advertising something that cannot legally be ridden in the UK, if the advert detail is correct. That may well contravene the ASA rules, I think.

I wouldn't report it to the ASA, they might investigate and then cast their net wider.

A member of my family (not blood) asked me about these a couple of months ago so I sent them off to Kudos and Woosh, I even got them a deal with Hatti (sorry Hatti). So last time I went over they had bought these dam things...I give up with them. They even had problems when they were delivered, had to be fixed for the first ride. The reason given was they will be good with the electrics as they do mobility stuff.

Handy though , that Company offers a natural progression from Ebikes to Mobility Scooters . Something to think about at my age , as my Wife keeps reminding me when she wants to upset me . She almost upsets me as much as our Politicians , I feel the need to take some pills fast !

Just to enlighten me,
What is a rear servo disc brake?
It's not a disc brake, it has either a roller brake (likely) or band brake (less likely). Both are servo acting types though, since applying them automatically leads to self-energising braking force.
