my wife is self employed and is looking for a cheap mono colour wifi printer to print off her invoices etc..

I have a couple of hi res' canon photo printers which is proving expensive at £15 a cartridge ( wont use refills as they ferked up my past printer )

So any recommendations on a good cheap mono laser printer or similar..??

thanks in advance..

:)

I agree with the advice here about a mono laser - but I'd stick with the Canon brand if I were you - there are i-SENSYS models around the £100 mark

I third mono laser, much much cheaper in the long run. incidentally does anyone know of a good cheap 3d printer that has a hot bed (i.e. can use recyclables) and a big space?

Another vote for mono laser. I purchased a Brother DCP something, about 3 years ago. The original toner cartridge lasted nearly two years and the current high capacity cartridge cost £80. It's a good reliable printer. I wouldn't use a squirty ink type again after using this printer.

In my case I need to print A3, so I use Canon inkjets with compatible inks from eBay. Last set of cartridges was £10 for 15 (I was able to chose what colours, so I got all black)

I have used compatible carts for 10 years now, never had a problem.

I found ink jet to be OK as long as you keep using them. If not used for a while, I found that the print quality suffered.
