Primroses and Canadian Waterbombers

I did 21 miles on my Batribike Folder on Medium Assist today and still had half my lights left , so no battery degradation since my last check in the Summer . I was surprised to see a large patch of primroses on a North facing slope with a hedge behind them preventing any Sun reaching them . I circled the old RAF Station at St.Athan and the two Canadair CL 215 Water Bombers of Buffalo Airways from Hay River , Northwest Territories , Canada were outside the old VC10 hangar . This has been taken over by Bruce Dickenson`s ( Iron Maiden for Lynda ) Cardiff Aviation and he is looking after them for the Winter . He flew one back from Turkey where they were based . Pity they hadn`t flown them the other way for the poor Aussies . With the first dry weather for months I have done over 40 miles in 2 days , all in my new Lidl Skiing Helmet . I expect other Forum Members would have taken advantage of the dry weather to go for a ride too !

Yeh yeh Roger.....stop trying to make me feel guilty lol

Only thing in my favour is it has been a damp grey miserable day here today.....and , of course, I dont have a Lidl skiing helmet......whatever that is.....is it hard ?
Fancy a helmet debate ?
Only joking :D

So......Bruce Dickenson...who was he in Iron Maiden then ?
I never went into (or remembered) details just enjoyed the music :)

Lovely to see the primroses though......sign of spring ? Probably not, long range is talking of a month of severe weather soon, so I suppose we (I) should get off our lazy backsides and get out whilst we can !

Pleased your battery did so well though and you enjoyed your ride........my poor Tonaro is looking very sad in the hallway, I promise I will get out as soon as the sun does :D

Lynda :)

BTW.....great title for a thread .....

Was ! He IS the lead singer as they are still going strong.

it was a bit scary a couple of years ago when my 22 year old (then 20) went to see them at Download and i realised the last time i saw them he was not even born !!!!

Mind you I am seriously thinking about fixing that this year by going myself (especially with Motorhead and Rammstein on bill as well). Just not sure if the body is up the the weekends hardship anymore.

Lynda I was thinking where have you been not to have seen the postings on Aldi Skiing Helmets . Then I remembered you have been in Spain , a far off Country . Since you went away ( I feel a song coming on ) we are all wearing these helmets , at least the Test Pilots are for the Forum . Lets hope we really don`t have to test them ! I Know that Bruce was a well known Pilot so I thought I would listen to his music just to see what it sounded like . God it was awful , it must be my age . I was brought up on Pat Boone , Andy Williams and the like .

Ah yes GaRRy......old age....it comes to us all......hence my 'slip of the tongue' with was/is :p

You go see them......your body will be up to the weekend of abuse....at the time.....you might however suffer afterwards, but it will be worth it :D

Lynda :)

Well....Im back now but you still wont ever catch me wearing a helmet, Lidl or not .....Im a risk taker (even if Amigafan thinks Im not lol ) :p

I have been sung to on this forum before actually....its nothing if not diverse lol

Please dont ruin my mental image of you as a funky risque' latter day rocker by mentioning Pat Boone and Andy Williams for gods sake.....download a bit of David Guetta, for example, onto your iPod and listen to something decent :D

Lynda I had heard of these iPods , I am still on the 2nd Generation Mobile Phone , the one that can send and receive pictures . Mine doesn`t, because when I rang the nice man in India to register it , I couldn`t satisfy him that it was me , so I am on my original Sim card . It doesn`t matter because I only carry it for emergencies like summoning an Ambulance if I fall off the Ebike with exhaustion or worse still get a puncture ! I do carry a pocket Holux GPS which measures speed , distance , altitude etc. , handy for the Police or Ambulance Helicopter to find me , when I go cross country on my Folder to prove Eddieo right or wrong that Folders can`t scramble .
You can be sure that if I take a tumble I will try and land on anything but my head , as I wouldn`t like to scratch my nice new Aldi Skiing Helmet !

Sounds like a great phone though Roger if it seemingly fixes your punctures....I could be tempted to get one if its that good :D :D

Sounds like you have all emergencies covered there too..... always good to stay optimistic in life lol

Lynda :)
