The plan was made in 2023 but there is no guarantee that British Gas is going to do that. It's to be decided by the government. If we find exploitable hydrogen deposits in the uk then it makes sense to do so. Until then, there is no reason to think it's going to happen this year.
That seems to be a negative view. Is there a reason to think that they won't find exploitable hydrogen and it won't happen this year?

It's silly to put 20% hydrogen into town gas then force people to replace their boiler unless hydrogen is as cheap as gas or hydrogen is already present in the gas.

People don't need to change anything in their boiler for 20%, and most boilers fitted in the last few years are hydrogen ready. Yes, they're already putting hydrogen in the gas.

UK households urged to pack 72-hour survival kit after being told 'prepare'
The UK Government has advised that every home should have a 72-hour emergency kit
"The UK Government has issued new guidance advising residents to maintain a 72-hour emergency kit at home, sparking conversations regarding the necessary components and strategies for storing vital supplies like canned beans and water.

The "Prepare" website, launched by former Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden, offers practical tips on how households throughout the UK can ready themselves for various emergencies such as floods, power cuts, or disease outbreaks, detailing the essential items for an emergency pack.

Authorities have noted that if people are unable to obtain all the suggested items at once, they should aim to gradually accumulate their emergency provisions, acquiring items when feasible. In line with this, the European Commission is also encouraging EU citizens to be equipped with enough food, water, and crucial supplies for at least 72 hours."
