Bike illegality question.

Just had a bloke pull up riding this -

He was propelling it under throttle only, so in passing I said to him under throttle it was illegal and classed as a moped.
He became a little irate, and apparently I wasnt the first to inform him of that, but was adamant it was totally ok.

He was an older gentleman so I let the swearing at me slide, but Im pretty sure I'm right in this, and as you all know by now its not often I'm wrong about anything

So what exactly is the gig on throttles ?

Sadly efforts at pointing out these illegal riders ends up with them becoming unruly and offensive , it seems age has no barrier .
Also sadly trying to reason with someone like that is akin to trying to polish a turd and a complete waste of time.

You did your best Andy only to receive a mouthful of hate, I too given the chance point out other riders wrong doing .

Last week as I was using all of the willpower I had at my disposal to not order the best pizza I've tasted for years (fresh dough, deep topping is stirred partway through baking [double Malliard effect], cheese, more cheese), because I'm trying to not bloat like the Michelin man again.... while gazing longingly at the extensive menu from outside... a delivery rider rocked up and parked with what looked like a X kW motor wheel. I did wonder whether to say something as he attached a D-lock, but decided he already knew, then resumed fantasising about delicious pizza. Probably would have told me to fsck off. Those dudes know and do it anyway. More pleasurable thinking pizza-esque thoughts.

I`d have to put a bag over my head riding that even at night to save my embarrassment.
