Power cable

I need to extend a power cable from the battery. Can anyone recommend what sort of cable I should get? It’s a 250w36V system. The controller is marked 17a. Thanks

14awg silicone wire is multi stranded flexible single application one buys the colour they want. It is used in most RC/ebike stuff.
That twin core is only .75mm2 so usually low current 6a fixed or 10a for a portable use.
Use the proper stuff 14awg 3.6mm dia wire or 2.08mm2 .

What do you put over the two cables? They would look neater with an outer cable in black?

I don't usually other too much, have used spiral wrap before but it looks a bit unsightly.

I use this stuff; I like that zipties securing wires to the frame covered with it, don't apply as much direct pressure. The edges can be tidied using a flame:
