Battery charge indicator.

Hi guys, I have a recent purchase of two Powacycle Salisburys. The charging instructions say to charge till the led turns green. There are three leds on the battery. One was lit before charging and after charging all three were lit. Even after an initial charge of some 20 hours or so both batteries leds remained red - all three lit. In use use the bikes pull strongly and all seems well. There is a charge state label next to the leds on the battery that is graded red to green in colour. I suspect that the led does not in fact change colour and the battery will be fully charged when all leds are illuminated, is this the case??
The instruction leaflet seems to be kind of generic and not specific to this model. Can anyone advise?

the red/green LED is on the charger, not on the batteries.

There are only 3 red LEDs on the battery...

Battery charge indicator.

Yes, discovered that today. I had the batteries on the bench with the chargers behind so not in clear view, I did feel a bit of a tattie when I found out. Thanks anyway:D

Can anoyone tell me where to order spares for a Powacycle Windsor?

Strider has dropped the faulty windsor discussed earlier in this thread round to me for fixing. Having examined it, my conclusion is that it's either the controller, or the hall sensors in the motor so I'd like to order a suitable controller (and hopefully a not too expensive one) to pop in as a replacement and see if that sorts things out.

Cheers,

Jim

According to Wazz Mughal himself the Powacycle Sales department will also sell spares (although they don't list this on the website). How responsive they will be I don't know (its worth chasing the request after a few days).

Their phone number is 01279 821243

Thanks Alex - I'll give them a call in the morning.

Edit: Just an update to the thread in case anyone cares.... The problem was indeed a faulty controller. I installed the replacement (took about an hour) and it worked first time. Powacycle's spares department were very responsive and shipped me a controller for the next day. It cost £55 (plus postage) to get the bike back on the road again.
