Hi

Got a mk2 powabyke trike and have been trying to identify the front hub motor size. I know it's 36v but is there a way to find out if its a 250w or 500w motor.

There was not controller on the bike when I received it. There are 2 wires red and black comming from it. I've hooked it up to 36v battery and switch and it runs fine.

It dode have a number and a Z letter I presume is the maker company.

Any help would be grateful. Images below

Cheers

The hub is old school and a brushed hub.
As to the brand it could be an ezee brushed hub ?

Yep a brushed hub will work direct off a battery but one will ideally need a controller to prevent over discharge current from the battery and to fit a PAS and have some kind of control over the motor power.

Yalu China sell 36v brushed controllers with a PAS option.
One can buy one on AliExpress for about £20 + delivery.

Thanks for that Info. Would I need pas as I'm wanting it to be a rev and go type of thing as it's for someone not able to pedal well.

UK law would leave someone open to prosecution, likelihood though may be small.
