Can anyone help me with how this works? I find it hard to believe it is a suspension post it is so uncomfortable, and I managed to leave the leaflet about it in the shop. Where is the spring supposed to be? I have 2 spare springs (green and silver) and there is nothing in rubber bulb thing- should the spring be there? Is there a way to make it more comfortable?!

Is it on the right way around?

In that document it says there are 4 different spring strengths. I am guessing you weigh less than 70 kg so you may need the softest spring.

Thanks!
The bike shop e-mailed me back to say the softest spring was in it so I opened the other end and turned the dial thing hopefully to make it softer. I can't yet tell if it is, as my derriere still hurts from my over-ambitious 50 mile round trip to Edinburgh on Friday!

Maybe it's the saddle that's the problem, a slight change of angle can make a massive difference to comfort, also it's relationship to the handlebars fore and aft and height wise.
Sometimes raising or lowering the handle bars can help, that affects the seat angle as well.
I would suggest trying a few slight changes to see if you can get an improvement. Maybe carry the tools to adjust seat and bars along with you so you can keep making changes as you go.
Dave.

At 60-70 km despite an excellent NCX seat post my backside can't take much more. The seat post has eliminated all back pain however! So I have adopted a deck chair for long rides :)

I've managed to alter the saddle angle so I'll see if that helps, and once I work out how the handlebars work I'll fiddle with them. I'm not in as much pain as my husband who is trying to keep up on a non e-bike! :D
