Replace bulb "A" with a switch operating an electric compressor and we have the answer, no more pesky brake pads or discs to fit the wrong way round.
The future is bright, the future is pneumatic brakes.

If you incorporated the bulb in the saddle, you could stop by bouncing up and down

I saw a short video once (pre YouTube days) of a bicycle powered by bumping up and down on the saddle. It was being ridden down a bumpy hill so you can guess the effect ...

It was probably 1930's slapstick rather than serious; I'd be very happy if anyone can point me at it again.
