I hope one of you Good people can help!!!!!!! 600 miles done and now it wants to go backwards :'( Help Needed

I have had the kit for just over 1 month.( this is my kit) (its the 1000w with the lcd display) it has worked really well with no problems....for 600 miles.... just last night i went to work and the bike was fine, when i came out after work i went to set off and the bike was going backwards... i have looked over the wires, for lose or touching wires and put it back together and the wheel is still going backwards. i looked online and i see that i could change the 2 wires round, i tried that and it worked but the wheel made a different noise... please please can you help me ? thats if you know the answer ? thanks for your time

thanks again Captsdzrgure.PNG

Logical reason is that your controller has a pair of self-learning wires that you forgot to disconnect. Show photos of all the wires and connectors.

I agree with vfr400. It looks to be a direct drive motor and probably hall sensorless controller. It's likely got confused on which way to turn on start-up. Have you tried contacting the seller for info on the problem?

vfr400, thanks for your reply.there are no self-learning wires.. pics for you ..... and Fordulike.. yes but as yet im still waiting for a reply.
What are the blue wires for?

Assuming that they're not self-learning or reversing wires, and as long as your controller doesn't have auto phase and hall sequence recognition, you can reverse the motor by swapping over the green and yellow phase wires and the blue and green hall wires.

The reason that it didn't work before is because you didn't swap the hall wires or you swapped the wrong ones.

Are you sure those blue wires aren't reversing wires?

2 blue wires...there for making the bike road legal 15kph. i use them on the road thats why there at the top taped down.... and it dose work when i turn the wires round and the wheel goes the right way,,but it makes a noise,,, but that is not right,,,, it was working fine and i should not have to swop any wires to get it to work again,,,would it not be the controller telling it to do the wrong thing????? im so lost

you need to check your Hall sensors first.

yes. You usually have yellow, green and blue for the Hall signals, red and black for the 5V supply and white is the speed or temperature sensor from the motor.
With all ebikes, you have to collect information first before making the diagnosis.

so if a hall sensor has gone or going.... it will make the wheel turn the wrong way?
so i nedd a Voltmeter to test them?
and they need to drop to 0 and go up to 5v????
if not it would need to be changed?

that can happen. The Hall sensors tell the controller when and which 2 coils should be connected to bat+ and bat-.
If one Hall or two are faulty, the coils won't be fired in the correct sequence.
Test them anyway. If they are OK, members can rule them out.

I use Honeywell SS41 but there are plenty of Chinese Hall sensors that work well too. They are inexpensive, about 50p apiece. You need to choose Hall sensors for motors.
