I know what you mean because I feel the same. It must rank as the most pointless thread we've ever had. It reminds me of the days way back at uni, when many students used to argue about socialism vs capatalism. It's probably the same people.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to switch it off.

Just ignore it, I ignore lots of threads.

Why be so intolerant, let them enjoy the thread they like while you enjoy the ones you like.

If you enter pedelecs using this link, you can select which forums you want to visit, ignoring "The Charging Post" forum which, being for non-pedelec subjects contains the Brexit thread.

Of course you are being intolerant, if you aren't interested in that thread what business is it of yours what is posted in there?

When you enter that thread knowing what is in there, any annoyance you suffer is entirely your own fault.

As I said, just ignore it, very easy to do since it's in an entirely separate section from the bike forums.

You're not only intolerant but cussed as well. That makes you very much like some in the Brexit thread.

Once again, the Charging Post is not a bike forum and clearly shown as such, they are completely separate and I've already shown you how to enter the bike forums without seeing the Brexit thread among the others. I've told you how, just use that link I gave you.

I really fail to see why you're making such a fuss? I come here, click new posts, then only open any threads that are of interest to me, what is so hard about doing that?

I just had a look and that's almost 15 views per post in that thread.
.
I think there's about 15 people involved in that thread. Each time someone posts, they all look to see if they can argue against it. That's where the 180,000 views comes from! Maybe 100 views from people who don't know what it is, so they look once because they think it might be something useful then close it after seeing that it's just a POS, never to look at it again.

Here we go again in this thread - wasting time making pointless arguments that can never be resolved!

Can't we start something more interesting, like helmets or whether people should mention illegal bikes on this forum?

I haven't rejected your opinions about the Brexit thread Paul, I fully understand them and why you and others don't like the Brexit thread. It really is as daft as you say, endlessly going round in circles.

What I don't understand is why you can't allow others to have their threads and opinions, and just ignore them. Don't they have rights too, and can't they benefit from freedom of speech, however pointless?

I've tried to help you by providing a link that minimises the chance of seeing the Brexit thread. Otherwise I am humble enough to regard myself as just an ordinary member and tolerant enough to not object to threads that don't interest me. Obviously that tolerance makes it impossible for me to have a closed mind, since I'm happy for anyone to post about anything they wish to, whenever and wherever they wish.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this...but is there some way of ignoring threads...just so i don,t ever have to see that poxy brexit thread every time i have a nose in here....thanks.

I can understand your frustration, and as an occasional poster on that thread, I have some responsibility. Brexit is likely to be the most significant event in recent UK history, and as a people you appear to be mesmerised into following it. At every stage untruths, half-truths and speculation have been presented (on both sides of the arguement, to be truthful, but in my opinion more so on the leaving side). I can appreciate that ordinary decent people are sick to the backteeth of the discussion, for an event that has not even commenced. In a way this is a brilliant tactic, as it stops people bothering to look at the details.
Much of the coverage in the thread has been personal insult driven, some of it ideological, and I deplore these. But some has been attempts to clarify the core issues.
When the inevitable article 50 document is sent , I will refrain from commenting on that thread, except to allow myself a single". I warned you ", in some 2 years time.
