My first thought is the system is closed type system like a Suntour system and needs a genuine Peugeot battery to communicate with the led display and controller.
Though the new battery lights up the led display it refuses to remain on, so there is a communication protocol that is not happening.

If your original one also has 6 pins then you might be in trouble, if 5 or more are wired up in the battery/controller then it will have comms protocols that sends commands to between each other to communicate and work.

Though you new one also has 6 pins, it is a Sans model and I bet only 4 are connected. One pair for charging on the bike and one pair for off the bike with the other two pins unconnected.

You have a few choices;
1. Try and get a re -fund on the battery you have bought ?
2. Buy a new correct Peugeot battery , likely to be expensive.
3. Keep your new battery and replace the controller and led/lcd with a generic model ( cost about £75 -£100) that will work with any battery and doesn't need controller to battery command protocols.

The first pic shows all six contacts looking like they are utilised and all disappearing in to the controller, pretty certain that comms protocol are used so only genuine parts will work.
The Julet style plug has 13 pins not the usual for bikes where/what does that connect to ?

Me personally option #3.
Though I would buy the KT kit as a dual voltage 9 mosfet (22 or 25a ) controller kit and limit the amps, the 6 mosfet controller kits get a bit warm.

What you do depends on your ability and soldering/wiring skills.

The battery might not be easy to send back depends on the company if they are willing to take it back and whether they will accept it back.

Can someone help?
From the other thread on this forum where you also posted this same video, that OP with the same Peugeot ebike stated it's a Phylion SF-03 battery. Phylion do several rack mount batteries that look fairly similar - ALL are available with either basic BMS (only two pins connected) or smart BMS (all 6 pins connected) and different power/capacities. It depends which of the two BMS battery versions Peugeot specified for your ebike, but they're not interchangeable. It looks as if you've bought the cheaper basic BMS version but need the smart BMS.

Check with Peugeot or Phylion that it is the SF-03 battery you need, and which BMS:

You can buy genuine Phylion batteries from several sources (eg: https://www.insportline.eu/spare-batteries ), or try source a copy battery (that has the "with smart BMS" sticker on it if that is what you need) - they are available.
