How old is the bike?
Are you reading the state of charge from the display unit?
Do you have a volt meter?

Hi, the bike was bought last June! Don’t have a meter, the lights on the actual battery say 20% but when you press the button for 5 seconds all the lights on battery come on for about 5-10 seconds then goes back to 20%.
The handlebar display shows full!
Appreciate your help and advice please.

Does the bike still ride ok and you get good range or does it cut out ?
Like issue is a bad battery led reading or a possible wire fault, if you bought the bike new then the battery has a two year warranty so take it back to have it looked at.

It's supposed to do that - IIRC it says so in the manual*. The one LED stays on to show the battery is on/working; you press the button for a second or two to show state of charge.

*That's dependant on which version of battery and thus manual you have. There're two types of Pendleton battery; one behaves as you describe, the other behaves differently.

I haven't read the manual but if the info is there to read then be guided by it and ignore my comments.
