Pedelecs Forum app for mobile phones and tablets

Just to clarify, I'm not developing an app from scratch!

There will be two apps available, the first will be a custom version of the Tapatalk app. The main advantage is it will be free (currently you have to pay for it).

There is also an app available from vBulletin Mobile Suite which I'll also release after the Tapatalk version.

I think it's great idea n'all

But I just can't see what's in it for you or Tapatalk ? Unless the "custom version" is really just Tapatalk with adverts

Which Is quite understandable - arguably everyone wins

Punters get Tapatalk for free (if you don't like ads then pay up!)

Pedelec get increased ad revenues - or at least don't lose it to ad free Tapatalk users

Tapatalk get increased distributions, downloads and possibly ad revenue too

Apologies if the motivation is pure altruism - I'm just a cynical g1t sometimes !

Really silly question, I just use the browser to view forums, what if any advantage would an app offer?

on ipad - chrome

on work PC - inside an RSS client called Feedreader

(Also - 2 days ago tapatalk started crahsing on certain threads only, i cant work out why - odd)

I've updated the current Tapatalk plug-in to the latest version. Does the problem still occur ?

If you are using a browser on a mobile phone, the app just makes it easier to navigate the forum and view the posts. It also uses less data if you are limited by your price plan.

No need to apologise! Yes, the custom version does allow us to show ads and they will be specific to this site. We can also control who they are shown to, so we could only show them to new and unregistered members.

Usually Safari on iOS. Have an Android Nexus 7 too but tend to find I usually pick up the iPad.

Don't mind the ads, can be useful to find what's available.
Got v.slow connection on Three, to this junky WinFone. :-(
Followed link to market, app is £2.99? Ok if good, but reviews say WP version is Beta & faulty.

I deleted and reinstalled app before I saw this post .

All seems well again - but now I can't be sure which change fixed the problem

Tapatalk has so many features and other advantages over using a browser. It'll pick out all the threads that you've participated in, tell you who's been quoting you, message you when you get a PM, show you who's logged on and what they're looking at, keep all your forums in one place with automatic logon, etc, etc. Once you start with it, there's no way back. Really good value for £2.
