PAS problem

Hi.
Wondering if anyone can help me. I have a voilamart 48v 1000w kit. I'm having trouble with the PAS. The motor works fine on the throttle but I can't get the pedal assist to work. I've replaced the sensor and the controller but to no avail. I've tried it on 2 different bikes but still the same problem. Any ideas?

It would have been a lot cheaper and more effective to replace the PAS!

Does it work backwards?

Thanks for the advice but I replaced the pas first. I was having a good look today and noticed the replacement pas was wired incorrectly on the connector. Black wire went to red and vice versa. When I swapped the wires over no problem. Must have been assembled incorrectly as all the parts were voilamart. Thanks anyway for replying
