Just a update did around 22 miles and bloody bike stand fell off in middle of country lane lost the nut and screws for plastic cover . I’ve since fitted new peddles much nicer than standard ones . Bikes done around 175 miles now

Just a little update
rear spoke has already broken and I’ve had to put it into a bike shop for a fix and wheel true , on around 295 miles now added a few more bits including chain ring guard and some oxygen decal to opp side of battery , still for the battery wobble so not sure on perm fix , we recently purchased a Thule raceway 3 bike rear rack carrier and took bikes to cotsworlds

Did you take the crank off to change the chainwheels? The standard S-cross MTB has a triple chainwheel. Your photo shows a single one. Maybe you didn't bolt it back up tight enough.
