SORRY BUT DUE TO A TREMENDOUS AND BASICALLY UNFORESEEN DEMAND FOR THIS BIKE WE ARE PRESENTLY OUT OF STOCK

Guess it was inevitable with the good reports about this bike, the horrible price of petrol and the lovely feeling of Spring in the air. I'll wait for the next consignment and in the meantime avoid using the car and use the bus pass. Sadly, not on the 'revolutionary' guided busway from St Ives to Cambridge. Basically finished but still not open and now down to legal wrangling between contactor and Cambs. County Council about faults. A relevant issue is that the new, dedicated cycleway parallel to the busway easily floods in parts! When the cycleway eventually opens it should be a cyclists dream, 15 miles with not a hill in sight!

unfortunately this is the "beauty" of the Internet, a good review can overwhelm a company with sales!

Over the years massive companies like DIY firm Screwfix and the "right-on" Co-Op Bank/Smile have been brought to their knees (stockrooms cleaned out, call centres overwhelmed, core business systems crashed) due to positive Press reviews!

Not good as potential customers will switch to something else, did Jim say when they would have more stock?

Oh dear! According to Bike Europe, Chinese lead times are very extended currently, 24 weeks on alloy frames:

Ooops! Then that's really poor stock management by Alien... unless they already have orders on their suppliers books they could be in quite a pickle.

I called and collected my bike in person as I'm not that far away. To be far they are a fairly small set up(although I think the owner has several other business interests) At the time they where selling on average 1 bike and 2 kits a day, all via website, and their restocking was geared to this. Jim was talking of a tie in with a local bike shop so people could call in and see the bikes in the flesh as the warehouse isnt really suited to retail. So maybe this and all the good reviews online have caused an increase in demand that has caught them off guard slightly.

Poor timing - I'd imagine soaring fuel prices, generally satisfied customers (They have very strong ebay feedback) and the long awaited spring weather would have seen substantial sales this year.

Perhaps NRG could knock one up for someone out of all the discarded parts from the recent modifications he's been doing :D :D

I remember 40 years ago my old man making a bike for me out of two second ones. I am sure we can beat that!
