Ouch! I came off my bike again.

I crashed again. In the same area that I crashed when I fell off the bridge. It gets very slimy there. Here's the first one where, despite falling off a small bridge into a gully below, no injuries where sustained.

Today, I skidded on some mud, over the tarmac path, and suffered some grazes and some bruising. I'll live. Anyway, third time's the charm. So wish me luck.

Evidently, better than I do. I've not seen him crash yet.

I'm really glad that my bikes are well worn and expendable. I was thinking that I'd hate to crash on a newer bike with a nice paint-job.

It's the second time I've been a victim of slime. Knobbly tyres didn't help with that.

After 18 years of policing, I realise that it's not hard to figure that out. Nice one Sherlock.

Most of the soil is actually red here. Hence the name of the town, of course. Unfortunately, the bit I skidded on was just standard black mud. Common as muck in most other places. But not around here.

The lengths some people will go to to start another thread about falling off.

You have to watch out for that thin slippery thin layer of mud over a harder sub surface, quite lethal as pretty much any angle of lean allows the wheels to wash away beneath you, and very unforgiving if you are tempted to touch the front brake.

Now that I have made light of your off I am bound to be heading for disaster on my next ride, and quite right to I hear you retort.

My last off was leaving a railway station, having quite rightly walked the bike out of the exit.

I placed my left foot into my toe clipped pedal, swung a leg over and sat on the saddle to suddenly find I could not pedal forward and was just at the wrong angle with my feet in the toe clips.

Slowly at first I gracefully listed to port before accelerating sideways and crashing to the ground rather perplexed.

My rear pannier had un-clipped and fowled the rear wheel. I brushed myself down, reassembled the bike and set off again.

Looking down at the front wheel I could see that I had slightly buckled it. B---er.
