The cycle lanes around here are designed and supplied by a bloke with a paint brush and a can of white paint. And he only works part time. In summer.
How did the Danes get it so wrong?

There's a high rate of cycling in Denmark so they have to provide for them. In Britain the low rate of cycling means the authorities:

1) can conveniently avoid that provision.

2) can't justify the huge expenditure for that provision.

If we had that over here we'd just get Strava nutters causing accidents on it.

One good thing - pedestrians aren't allowed to use it :)

Whilst it is a good solution to a specific problem, I wouldn't like to see a proliferation of them - i.e. elevated skyways above existing roads - all that does is re-inforce the idea that roads are for cars and that bikes should stick to cycle lanes.
