Omnium Mini Cargo bike - what kit?

Hello Everyone,

I have an Omnium Mini cargo bike (looks like a butcher's bike: https://omniumcargo.dk/omnium-mini/).

I want to add an electronic assist. I've been looking at mid-drive options (probably a Bafang BBSHD), but does anyone have an opinion on using a rear hub motor for this bike/setup?

Reliability is more important to me than speed. It would be used for flat city riding, mostly, and not carrying heavy loads most of the time.

Thanks for your help!

Look at the rear hub motors Woosh offers, they will work well for what you want to do. 451 is an unusual wheel size and 37 mm is a narrow tyre for carrying large loads. As it is a disk brake bike you could fit a more common 406 wheel but you probably won't get a Big Ben tyre in there...

Thanks. Yes I was looking at those, was thinking the SWX02 might be just the ticket. Is Woosh the place to buy then, would you say?

Thanks Woosh. Actually mine has a 9 speed cassette on the back - would that work with the SWX02?

But I'd be happy to go for the XF08C if they're much of a muchness. I'll send you an email with some pictures.

Cheers.

the 48V SWX02 has about 20% more torque but the XF08C can pull easily you + 50kgs load.
The SWX02 has screw on freewheel fitting, XF08C cassette fitting.
Cassette is always better than freewheel. They run true and not wobble like screw-on freewheels, cheaper and easier to replace too.
