Can anyone please recommend types of bikes and some companies or even models for two people aged 62 and 67 wishing to use electric bikes in a hilly area (Cotwolds) for pleasure occassionally and for exercise 2-3 times a week for distances up to 20 miles under £1000

Thanks
Bob

I think you could do worse than look at Powabykes. They are great climbers and would be within your budget - probably even with a spare battery for the new X Series.

The other obvious choices for hills would be one of the Panasonic motor powered bikes, Cytronex or an Ezee - but all I think are now >£1,000

It's a pity you can't stretch the budget a little further. I live in Bath and ride a Kalkhoff Agattu. I commute every day up and down the very steep hills of Bath and I find that the bike tackles everything I throw at it with ease. Could you buy through the cycle to work scheme? That way you save 46%

I should also say though that Powabyke is a Bath based company and their bikes have been successfully tackling the hills of Bath for years. Have a look at their X6 which is spot on your budget.
