Hello.

Recently bought an old Thompson classic 2 as I live rurally and work about 4 miles away seemed an attractive option.

I have replaced the old lead acid batteries with the correct type had the bike going well and enjoyed it. As it was all jury rigged to make it work, this morning I put the lid on the battery cover back on. Now it won't work, strangely if I plug the charger in it works perfectly. All the batteries are fully charged but it only works on the charger. Has anyone any idea what the issue is. Was looking forward to using it and now I clearly can't. Any theories or advice will be very appreciated. Cheers JB

Weighs 87lbs. Thats seriously heavy. Whats the benefits of having a lead acid battery ?. I guess thats where all the weight is coming from.

I know what youre saying, i bought my ebike on health grounds too. It make a serious difference and ive been a cyclist as my only form of transport for 30 years. Hills are now a doddle and longer journeys, ie city center and home went from a slog to a giggle..

As to your problem, sorry im useless on this electrical stuff. I service my own brakes, forks shocks etc but sparky i am not. Flecc above is the man* for that and others on here who are seriously clued up on all things electrical.

* Im assuming Flecc is male, theres no gender indicators on here lol. (not obviously that it matters)... oh dear, i best stop there, you can get into a right pickle these days.
