We've been waiting a long time for the automatic version, lets hope it's been worth it. There's no doubt this CVT is the ideal application for automatic changing.

Just a pity that reviews have usually commented on the hub's relative inefficiency, but of course with front hub or crank e-power that's not so important. Combined with torque sensor pedelec it makes for e-bike riding nicely control free aside from brake levers.

Now if NuVinci could create a back pedal brake as well with combined front and rear brake application, that would even get rid of those!

I don't know a UK price for the latest 360 standard version, but they are around $499 in the USA, and the earlier model was around £500 here. The price of the automatic version is bound to be high, but since it competes with the extremely expensive Rohloff which is up to £1000 fitted (SJS), that probably won't worry them.

The N360 is a fab bit of kit.

The Joule has it and it works really well. Cruising at high speed without your legs spinning off into the bushes

I'm quite surprised by the price, perhaps I've just got used to the fact the 11-speed Shimano hub is so dear.

The Nuvinci N360 makes a nice partner for any of the Chinese crank-drives. It solves all the crunchy gear-changes. I ordered one for my GNG after I finally managed to get a new 9T drive sprocket.. I hope it can take the torque

It certainly seems the strongest of all the options where torque handling is concerned, tests I've seen appear to live up to the maker's claims. NuVinci place the limit at 130 Nm, which comfortably exceeds the highly reputed Rohloff which has it's limit at 100 NM.

Both Shimano and SRAM duck out of openly specifying their hub gear limits and Shimano are very sensitive on the subject.

If anyone was daft enough to spend that kind of money upgrading a Woosh CD what sort of sprocket and chain ring combo would work well? The currrent 14-28 cassette (I thiink) does not give much variation compared to say the 12-34 of the newer 8 gear models and the banging gear change is a bit concerning .

To be honest it has managed everything I have tried so far on and offroad but a bit of overdrive / longer gearing would be great.

Without buying a Nuvinci, you can buy a normal cassette wheel complete with a 11/34 cassette on Ebay for not very much. This will give much more comfortable pedalling in top gear and better climbing in bottom gear. The main advantage of the Nuvinci is the gear-changing, which avoids all that banging. It's much easier when going uphill.

No, for me perfection is a 500w Bafang CST with a 30 amp controller. Nothing else comes close. The 8Fun crank-drive with a Nuvinci hub is a nice combination though. If that was the only one I was allowed, I'd still be pretty happy.

I should have read this a little more closely............ a 7sp 11-34T cassette is not quite as rare as hens teeth as I first thought, I tracked one down at SJS cycles.
The problem I found when I wanted to change the cassette is that the rear wheel on the Woosh Sirocco CD is a freewheel not a freehub. With my limited knowledge I thought they were last century and outdated.
So back to the problem, look for 11-34T for the freewheel which do seem as rare as hens teeth or try to find the cassette wheel as D8veh originally suggested and I misunderstood.
I will trawl Ebay but if anyone can point me in the right direction for either option it would be appreciated.
I have an old Diamond Back MTB and tried the back wheel on the Woosh but the skewers seem just a bit short is this likely to be my next snag if I buy a new wheel?
