You can buy bike specific degreasers, but you could use car brake degreaser or electrical contact spray you have lying about in the shed.

Pads worn out,I'm surprised after 450 miles,however we live in a hilly area,
in S. Devon.

For replacement use semi metallic or full metallic/sintered pads for longer life and quieter braking, check the rotors first as some say use only organic/resin only.
