I seriously doubt this is going to be of any interest to anyone here. Most balk at the idea of spending anything more than a few hundred doing a conversion, and never, just never on bikes that cost 4 or 5 thousand pounds.

Gearbox motor costing $2500+ just for the motor, then the costs of frame, etc etc and dare I say it.... etc.
So you're probably looking at bikes starting about the $8K mark.

Yeah well never suit anyone here or likely to visit here. It's all how to illegally de-restrict your ebike or fix a broken hub drive.

Great ! Lets make a pedelec (cheap form of mass transport) that's full of proprietory, unrepairable parts and increase the fault liability while we're at it. Yeah, that's the way to go !
What happened to garden shed maintenance.
Over the weekend, I showed my daughter and son in law how to take a crank off to access a dodgy pas disc. They both did it (on my bike) and were thrilled at the simplicity and ability/understanding gained.

Cheaper options are buy an Alfine or Rolloff hub with a mid drive.
