Hi there! I have a 2013 Kalkhoff Pro Connect s-pedelec with the Panasonic 26v motor. Last fall, I bumped the front light into something causing the wires to disconnect from the front light. I checked that the wire from the motor still provided 6 volts and ordered a new light. No success. I tried other lights as well. These lights were quite powerful though (80 - 100 lux), so I recently ordered a 30 lux light, which the system should be able to handle (the original Axa light was 70 lux). Still no success. I even fixed the old light. But now the wire does not provide any power at all. I guess I might have crossed the wires while trying to fit a new light, or something. So I wonder, does anyone have any advice for me?

Any tips on what to chech for faults?
And general explanations for why the new lights did not work while the wire was providing power?

I'm not famaliar at all with your bike or it's wiring system and from your description I'm not clear if the light is served by one or two wires?

If one wire (not likely but..), then there's a return path through the bike frame and maybe when you were originally testing the replacement light, you'd not got it connected to the frame.

If two wire then you should check for the 6v as near to the source (motor casing?) as possible. For instance, if there's a plug on the end of the lead going into the motor, then unplug and measure for 6v coming out of the socket. If that's OK, then one or other of the two wires is broken (or maybe one of the pins in the connector is not making good contact).

Sorry to be so general - maybe someone with specific knowledge will be along soon.

Have you got a separate 6v source to check the lights are working?
