Panda is helping to promote SWYTCH but we are not selling it until after the original crowd funding campaign.
The SWYTCH kit is my invention (I'm the holder of the patent application #No. 1715176.2 )
We have spun SWYTCH of as a subsidiary company from Panda eBikes - the product is initially only available through INDIEGOGO and we are launching in a few weeks. We cannot sell out of this platform until this campaign finishes.
Interest in the product so far has been incredible, and we were advised to go for this crowd funding route so that we can offer a really low price, and take a large number of pre-orders before the market realises and inevitably starts to copy in various ways. If we went for a conventional sales route of manufacturing and then selling we would have to charge much more, but more importantly it would take years to grow sales to the kind of level where we were big enough not to get overtaken by a large company copying the idea.
