Happy bike building!
Gaz
Hi Gaz, yes yet more bike building, its a good thing I enjoy it! Since last spring I have done the two uni bikes, my Alfine 11 Pompino and now this. As well as this I have to do some refurbishment of my tourer and my OH's non electric trekking bike, mainly wheel builds plus a lick of paint for the latter.
For anyone interested the 'uni' bikes were a Raleigh Cameo ladies 3-speed for my daughter at university in Brighton, bought for £8 but around £100 spent on making it safe and usable including new tyres alloy rims, brake levers, cables, repairs to Sturmey Archer hub, rack added after photo but brushed on black paint retained to put potential thieves off:
and a Dawes Diploma ladies 3-speed for my step daughter at university in Liverpool, bought for £85 but needed much less, just chain, cables, brake blocks, one tyre and a minor repair to the hub. Ironically total cost was about the same as the Raleigh, and it is much the better bike really:
Also serviced my son's old chromo steel MTB based bike that I built previously for him, so he could take it to university (also Brighton) and popped on new tyres and stainless mudguards:
then as said built up my own On One Pompino with Alfine 11 speed hub gear:
