Newbie with £1000

Hi all what step through would you buy for around £1000
Needs to cover about 8 miles a day 4 of them are a slight incline
Daily commute only..

woosh sell a lot of bikes to commuters. All the models above have been out for a few years. The crank drive bikes (Santana CD and Santana CDL) have slightly better weight distribution than the hub drive bikes.

Suggest you try as many as you can - we're very happy with out stately Juicy Classics (the Daimlers of Ebikes).

The Groove is a nicer bike than the woosh bikes, but it's dearer so should be.

You say you want 'a lower battery', but the Groove battery is perched on a rear carrier, so couldn't be higher unless it was on stilts.

If you like the Freego step throughs you should consider the Juicy Classics.

you shouldn't pay too much attention to the brand at this level of prices. Most bikes except the Groove are Chinese imports.
Commuter bikes need to be capable and low maintenance. More AHs and strong motors are always useful.

I have had a Juicy Classic for a couple of months now and I must say I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a step through bike. She climbs hills like there is no tomorrow and unusually, the Juicy company give you the option to increase the battery capacity in increments to suit the mileage that you intend to do.
If you are only doing 8 miles daily, the standard 10ah battery will do you fine. Here is the link:

That'll be well within your budget as well and a good choice of colours.

I'm willing to bet that you'll end up riding it for leisure as well as your commute 'cos you'll love it so much, but the Juicy will do 3 or 4 days on your commute without a charge.

The Juicy looks good with it's swan like frame and seems to me to be well put together - the join welds are really neat for example. Let me know if you need anymore info' about it, or better still speak to Bob (he has already responded to you under the Juicy bike logo above, but was far too polite to include a link to his business within the body of his post).

No mention of battery at all. If they are claiming a 20ml range, it probably does nearer 15mls with hills, so must be a teeny weeny battery.
Also it's a folding bike which the OP didn't mention as a requirement and potentially compromises the strength and stability of the bike.
Still out IS an astonishing price.
