Hello folks
I've just joined and introduced myself on the 'welcome' thread (is it a thread or a forum).. anyway, I digress.
Having had a very short ride on a Wisper at the Norfolk Bike Show at the Forum over the weekend (really informative and friendly guys there), I'm now thinking quite seriously about purchasing an electric bike. I don't have a fortune to spend -hoping to find something close to the £1,000 mark -but happy to spend a bit more if it makes sense to do so for the right bike.
I'm in my 50s, not that I guess age matters, am of modest height (5'4") and looking for something to commute around 3 miles to and from work and use for leisure (weather permitting).
I've done a bit of research - well, read a lot of articles which are informative and confusing at the same time - lol. I've two models in my thoughts at the moment and they are:-
1) Wisper 705se (maybe the Torque version as well) or
2) Cruiser Standard Floral (yep, I'm a girly girl) sold through eRanger
Both seem to be fairly similar in terms of gears, disc brakes, tyres, pedal and throttle assist -not sure how the batteries compare (Wisper 375wh or 575wh - Cruiser 36V 10AH). The cruiser one is dutch style (similar to the Dawes bike I own) and comes with a rather natty front basket (I did say I'm a girly girl remember and yes, looks do matter).
Anyway - I know folks will say it's best to go try a few out, and I will -but I don't think the eRanger one is available locally to me (Norfolk). But I would appreciate any thoughts, views, advice given on these or any others you feel should be on the shopping list.
Thanks
