I have three electric bikes, one very old, one Dutch style and one folding.

I always try to make myself visible on the road by wearing a hi-viz garment but very often I see many riders with all the trendy gear but in very dark clothing - not a good idea.

Hi Philip, welcome. I agree about the clothing, most lycra's seemed to go to extraordinary lengths to make themselves hard to see - then put a flashing light on the bike !

I was fortunate enough to buy a ex demo pro rider E Wayfarer saving £169 on the retail price. The only issue was the U shaped metal round bar (usually under the middle of the bike) is missing, never been quite sure what its purpose was. The bike is quite light in weight compared to others and very quick and easy to ride.

That sounds like a decent lucky break to be honest! just had a look at it and first impressions it looks pretty decent, main thing is it does the job!

Think it may be to protect the chain wheel when the bike is folded.

Thanks for that ,makes sense, as metalwork was my business and i still have some 8mm round bar i might fabricate and weld onto the bottom plate.
