Hi all.
I've been on a steep learning curve with electric bikes since I bought my wife a Gtech 'City' a few weeks ago. Until I spotted the advert for the Gtech and did some research I had no idea of the technical advances in this field and of the popularity of 'pedelecs'. I think i've been on another planet, but to be fair, I have yet to see any other e-bikes in my area.
My wife is absolutely delighted with the Gtech. She has a disability which means she hasn't been able to ride a 'normal' bike for many years. We went out for our first ride together and I was dismayed that I couldn't keep up! I am a quite fit 64 year old but I hadn't ridden my own bike for ages as I have a lot of knee pain from arthritis.
I did bit of googling and eventually ordered an 'ARC Street' conversion kit from Dillenger, which I fitted two weekends ago. Conversion wasn't quite as simple as the adverts make out but I am a reasonably competent DIY 'mechanic' so I was able to carry out the conversion of my Marin 'Eldridge Grade' MTB successfully, with a bit of help from Dillenger support.
It is absolutely brilliant! I've not been on a big ride yet but use the bike for every short trip I can where I would normally use the car. It's quite hilly here and riding a normal bike with dodgy knees can be painful.
Has anyone else fitted this kit, or is considering it?
